Canadian Sales Manager

General Description:

The Canadian Sales Manager will lead and manage Magic Lite’s efforts to expand sales with existing accounts and develop sales of new accounts within the Electrical / Lighting Distribution channels, Specifying Lighting Engineers / Designers and On-Line/Ecommerce channels. Other accounts may be added or deleted from time to time. The Canadian Sales Manager is responsible for achieving or exceeding sales targets while driving strategic account objectives for the entire assortment of current and future products offered by Magic Lite. This includes focusing on establishing relationships with key personnel at distributor’s headquarters to create winning strategic plans to meet business goals and objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans focused on sales growth
  • Lead the development and presentation of product line and category reviews
  • Secure new accounts while managing and growing sales revenue of existing key accounts
  • Establish and maintain high-level relationships with all accounts
  • Manage and motivate Magic Lite’s manufacturer’s representatives to provide a competitive edge with all accounts
  • Create sales objectives consistent with the corporate strategic business plans
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive activities and collect competitive information to support strategic and tactical business planning
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities derived through new features in existing products or completely new products
  • Implement marketing promotions and programs to drive sales growth
  • Collaborate within internal departments to deliver and maintain an accurate product forecast, contact references, customer solutions, and customized value propositions
  • Participate when required in corporate and customer meetings, industry meetings, Trade Shows and social networks to represent the company
  • Execute national and regional promotions and other initiatives within customer channels to promote brand awareness for Magic Lite

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external customers
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and Social Media platforms)
  • Dynamic, persistent, self-starter with good business acumen and driven to succeed
  • Ability to provide solutions and problem solving strategies
  • Ability to operate both independently and as a member of a team
  • A proven track record of year over year sales growth
  • Ability to travel
  • Minimum 10 years of sales experience selling into Lighting and Electrical Industry
  • Sales skills including but not limited to forecasting, business plan development, sales cycle management, F&B communications, negotiation and closing abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
